Halogen Guides (http://www.halogenguides.com) is an independent new media venture that provides objective analysis and information to affluent consumers about luxury real estate and travel. Our network of websites also offers consumer reviews and buying guides for vacation homes, private jets, and more.
In less than two years, we’ve generated significant revenue and closed a private, multi-million dollar round of financing. We’ve built partnerships with American Express, Ritz-Carlton, and other leading luxury brands. Our analysts are regularly quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, the New York Times, and Newsweek.
We need your help to find experienced candidates who are passionate about building a consumer internet venture. Sales Executive—New York
We’re looking for a high-energy sales executive with at least 2 years of online advertising sales experience. The perfect candidate has existing relationships with media buyers and advertising clients. The role will initially involve assisting the Vice President of Sales with proposals and attending agency meetings. After 6 months, you will then garner your own book of sales. The position will report to the Vice President of Sales.
Director/VP of Marketing
Own Halogen Guides’s consumer marketing strategy. Drive top-line revenue and manage marketing team. Requires strong quantitative skills and knowledge of SEM, SEO, lead generation, affiliate programs, email acquisition and online advertising. Ideal candidate has 10+ years of direct marketing experience at a top 1,000 website, Fortune 500 internet property, or leading online retailer. MBA and agency experience a plus.
Inside Sales Associate
Sell online advertising packages to luxury real estate and travel verticals. Requires tenacity to make cold calls, generate interest, and close deals up to $50K in value. Ideal candidate has proven success selling web media.
Advertising Account Manager
Create and manage online ad campaigns to deliver on clients’ goals. Ensure that ad operations are optimized to achieve maximum revenue potential. Communicate with clients to manage and exceed expectations. Ideal candidate has campaign management experience and is passionate about internet technology.
Director/VP of Product Development
Manage all stages of the product development cycle from initial concept to product execution. Responsible for delivering Halogen Guides product releases (alpha and beta), as well as subsequent releases, features, fixes, and enhancements at optimal quality, on time, and on budget. Requires strong, proven cross-functional and cross-departmental project management skills.
Product Manager
Manage development of new websites and features from wireframe to launch. Requires past experience writing product definitions for consumer web applications. Ideal candidate has demonstrated success bringing together business goals and technical requirements to ensure products launch on-time and within budget.
User Interface Designer
Collaborate with engineering team to design online features and back-end interfaces. Requires intimate knowledge of CSS and XHTML and experience with cross-browser implementation (IE, Firefox, Safari). Technical skills more important than creative design ability. Proficiency in Photoshop, Javascript, and Flash a plus.
Director of Engineering
Oversee software development efforts in San Francisco and Orlando offices as well as a team of outside freelancers. Serve as point-person to ensure engineers in various locations coordinate efforts, document code, and reduce redundancy. Ideal candidate has proven experience both as a software engineer and as a “traffic cop” in a fast-paced development environment.
Ruby on Rails Developer
Develop new features for online media site. Requires 3+ years experience building applications in a web development framework (Ruby/PHP/Python/Java). Experience with agile development in a team setting preferred. Ideal candidate has successfully deployed a publicly accessible, high-traffic web service or application.
Human Resources Manager
Manage day-to-day HR administration and assist in recruiting for a rapidly growing online media venture. Must have experience as a generalist handling everything from writing job postings to handling exit interviews. Ideal candidate is a member of SHRM, familiar with employment law, and experienced in finding talent for consumer web startups.
